Session: “Working Together – The Multistakeholder Approach to Governance” (90 mins)
□ Description
The goal of multistakeholder Internet governance is to collectively move the needle on issues related to the Internet by working together to form consensus on Internet policy issues, and to find solutions to common problems.
멀티스테이크홀터 인터넷 거버넌스의 목표는 인터넷 정책 이슈에 대한 합의를 형성하고, 공동 문제에 대한 해결책을 모색하기 위해 함께 협력함으로써 인터넷 관련 문제에 관한 해결책을 공동으로 찾고자 하는 것이다.
In this session, we will look at the key elements that make multistakeholder governance successful, and the challenges of the multistakeholder model. In the APAC region, more effort is needed to encourage openness and inclusivity amongst different stakeholder groups in order to find consensus on difficult Internet policy issues. Hence, we will also discuss how to encourage more people from different sectors to take an interest in Internet governance (IG) issues and to participate in their local communities.
이 세션에서는 멀티스테이크홀더 거버넌스를 성공으로 이끄는 핵심 요소와 멀티스테이크홀더 모델의 도전을 살펴 본다. APAC 지역에서는 어려운 인터넷 정책 이슈에 대한 합의를 도출하기 위해 다양한 이해 관계자 그룹 간의 개방성과 포괄성을 장려하기 위해보다 많은 노력이 필요하다. 따라서 다른 분야의 사람들이 인터넷거버넌스(IG)에 관심을 갖고 지역 사회에 참여하도록 장려하는 방법에 대해서도 논의 할 것이다.
Our speakers will share their experiences of applying the multistakeholder approach in Internet governance (IG) at varying levels of participation – locally, regionally, and globally. Examples of local community efforts include the Korea Internet Governance Alliance (KIGA) which comprises a multistakeholder community that has shepherded discussions related to local IG issues for many years. Also, Singapore’s Internet community have carefully navigated private-public partnerships in order to drive Internet policy discussions and help policymakers make informed decisions.
우리 발표자는 지방, 지역 및 세계적으로 다양한 참여 수준에서 인터넷거버넌스(IG)의 멀티 스테이크홀더 접근법을 적용한 경험을 공유 할 것이다. 지역 커뮤니티 활동의 예로는 지역 IG 이슈와 관련하여 수년간 토론을 이끌어온 멀티스테이크홀더 커뮤니티를 구성하는 한국인터넷거버넌스연합 (KIGA)이 포함된다. 또한 싱가포르의 인터넷 공동체는 인터넷 정책 토론을 유도하고 정책 입안자가 정보에 입각 한 결정을 내리는 데 도움이 되도록 민간 – 공공 파트너십을 신중하게 탐색해 오고 있다.
At the regional and global level, we will examine how different Internet communities come together to share their views on issues related to the Internet during regional and global events such as the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF), as well as participating in global Internet fora such as Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
지역 및 세계 수준에서는 아시아태평양지역 인터넷거버넌스포럼 (APrIGF)과 같은 지역 및 글로벌 이벤트내에서 인터넷 관련 문제에 대해 서로 다른 인터넷 커뮤니티의 의견을 어떻게 공유하고, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers)과 같은 글로벌 인터넷포럼들이 어떻게 참여하는지 점검할 것이다
